Dr. Vineeta Shobha spoke about the role of myositis-specific autoantibodies in diagnosis & management, anti- synthetase syndrome, antigenic target in DM, proposed criteria for different MSA, and MSA detection methods. MSA is a powerful tool that can differentiate subtypes of DM/OM based on characteristic combinations of systemic and cutaneous phenotypes. Despite autoantibody phenotype overlap and incomplete autoantibody penetrance, sub-classification guides specific clinical care. Additionally, accurate sub-classification is critical to guide with respect to follow-up, prognosis, and anticipation of disease sequelae.

Good evening madam .
We will use steroids in myositis. Steroids may cause hypokalemia . We should stop steroids at that time
