The basic and advanced pharmacological principles of Methotrexate are presented. The session covers its mechanism of action as a folate antagonist and dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) inhibitor, its pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, intracellular polyglutamation, and its pivotal role as a anchor disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune disorders.
